Mercedes GP

After the withdrawal of Honda from Formula 1 in 2009 the left-overs turned into the British Brawn GP team run by strategic mastermind Ross Brawn and powered by a Mercedes-Benz V8 engine. Surprisingly this all new team won the drivers and constructors-championship with their very first try and Jenson Button became world champion after a dominating first half of the season.

Only one year later Brawn GP became the official successor of the legendary Mercedes-Benz team that quit racing after the tragic accident at LeMans in 1955 that killed 80 spectators. The drivers for Mercedes GP are Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher who made his first steps into professional motor racing with Mercedes-Benz  at the DTM in the early 90s and thus comes back to his roots now.

After a considerable 4th place in the constructors-championship in 2010 the Mercedes GP team reaches out for its first victory and a competitive fight for the title in 2011.
